A room for slow clay
Rooks Clunked Clay grew from a simple wish: a Limassol space where sculptural handbuilding is taught with care, not as a souvenir craft table.
We opened on Anexartisias to be close to the city’s walking heart while keeping a workshop that feels private once the door closes. The brand name holds the domain stem and our love of imperfect, clunked-together volumes — pieces that look assembled by intention rather than spun into perfect symmetry.
Teaching here means small groups, clear demonstrations, and time for questions at the table. Instructors guide wedging, scoring, and drying strategies suited to Cyprus weather. We fire electric loads on a published cycle and talk honestly about cracking, warping, and what the kiln can and cannot save.
Our community includes first-time makers, architects exploring material studies, and returning students who keep a shelf of unfinished forms between courses. We are not a retail pottery shop and we do not run high-volume wheel production. If that sounds like the clay life you want, you are welcome.
Visit during open hours for a short tour, or write ahead to reserve a workshop seat. We are glad to discuss private group sessions for studios and design teams who want a focused handbuilding day.
